During the session, experts discussed the four key pillars of modern obesity management. These included Medical Nutrition Therapy with a focus on sustainable caloric deficit and nutrient-dense foods; Physical Activity involving at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise weekly along with resistance training; Behavioral Modification through counselling and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to address emotional eating and stress-related triggers; and advanced treatment options including pharmacotherapy and bariatric surgery for patients requiring medical intervention. Dr. Asheesh Sinha further stated that even a modest weight reduction of 5–10% can significantly improve metabolic health, glycemic control, and reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. He encouraged individuals struggling with obesity and diabetes to seek professional medical guidance for a personalized and scientifically designed treatment plan.
